With 27 years experience in yacht construction, Horizon Group has built more than 700 luxury yachts for the global market; in recent years, we have expanded our business to refit and maintenance services within the super yacht sector. We have successfully completed refit and maintenance projects for a number of mega yachts ranging from 100 to 227 feet, and the quality of the completed work has received very positive reviews from the owners and crews. This has resulted in numerous requests from new and prospective clients, as well as current Horizon owners, for more information on the services available, and we are happy to report our services are already proving to be a great asset to our owners, as seen with our most recent project: the 105-foot Horizon superyacht “QUEEN GRACE.”

“QUEEN GRACE” that was delivered at the end of 2008, and she was recently brought in for her yearly haul, maintenance and a number of updates. The owner is the CEO of a famous Japanese chain of upscale, Michelin three-star rated French Restaurants; he has an extraordinary zest for life, which is seen in his selection of materials and the overall design of his yacht. With 5 years of enjoyment behind her, “QUEEN GRACE” was due for a more extended yard period for maintenance as well as some interior and exterior changes to update the feel of the yacht. Despite having other, more convenient locations for this work to be done, the owner decided to bring her “home” where the craftsmen and engineers who built her could once again put their talents to good use and hand her back to the owner with a new and refreshed look.

“QUEEN GRACE” benefitted from new bottom paint and a new teak swim platform and diving board, as well as servicing all major mechanical and propulsion equipment and reconditioning the propellers. She also received a number of exterior cosmetic updates that complimented the new window line in the pilot house. A new U-shaped dining area was constructed on the interior, along with a new day head, new soft goods, and a complete crew refit. Horizon’s experienced craftsmen were able to source the same veneer for the modifications, so the new wood blended with the existing woods for a consistent and spectacular finish.

After 2 months back at Horizon, “QUEEN GRACE” left with a refreshed look as if she had just been launched. Thanks to the professional refit service completed by the Horizon team, QUEEN GRACE is once again ready to create many more memories for her owner and guests.
