Horizon V74 and PC58 Showcase at Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show
2012-03-01
The 2012 Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show, which stretches along Collins Avenuein Miami Beach, was held this year under what could only be described as perfect, 70-80 degree sunny weather. The Horizon display featured the V74Satori and PC58 Catamaran Blue Horizon, and while the crowds were a little lighter than in previous years, a number of new customers showed interest in new builds; many clients also came back for a second look at Horizon, and current Horizon owners stopped by the display to learn about the new happenings at Horizon.
Joining the Horizon U.S. team this year was Horizon CEO John Lu, who helped host Chen Chu, Mayor of Kaohsiung City, on her first visit to an international boat show.
During the Mayor’s visit, she witnessed the signing of the first international partnership between two marine organizations – the Taiwan Yacht Industry Association (TYIA) and the Marine Industry Association of South Florida (MIASF). John Lu, Chairman for the TYIA, and Kristina Hebert, President of the MIASF, signed a letter of intent to establish a mutually beneficial relationship for the advancement of the global yachting industry – the MIASF, who owns the Fort Lauderdale International Boat show, will also provide support to the TYIA and city of Kaohsiung as they organize their first international boat show in Kaohsiung Harbor in 2014.
As a result of a successful Miami show, Horizon now has pending contracts for new build yachts, and we anticipate this level of activity to continue into the 2012 Palm Beach Boat Show from March 22nd – 25th, where the new CC105 Explorer, V74 and EP69, all of which are already attracting a great deal of attention, will be showcased at the Horizon display.
