Largest Fort Lauderdale Int’l Boat Show Brings Hot Weather and Hot Clients to Horizon Yachts

The 56th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) may have been a hot and humid one, but that did not stop crowds of show visitors from coming to see Horizon Yacht’s new luxury yacht line-up; from Nov 5th-9th, activity was non-stop on the Horizon E88, E84, and E78 motoryachts, the PC60 and PC52 power catamarans, and the P110 superyacht.
“This year marked the largest FLIBS show ever, as well as the largest Horizon Yachts showcase at FLIBS,” said Horizon Yacht USA Director Roger Sowerbutts. “We saw a steady stream of clients throughout the show, some looking to get into a new boat immediately and others interested in building a yacht that will suit their specific yachting lifestyle. “The energy and enthusiasm for Horizon, and for boating in general, was very encouraging, and we are excited to further explore the activity after the show.”
As a debuting model, the Horizon E88 open bridge motoryacht brought clients who were looking for a yacht shy of 100 feet but had all the amenities of a larger yacht, and the E88 fit the bill -- her four stateroom layout with separate crew aft, open flybridge, beach club with hydraulic swim platform, and numerous amenities were of great interest for clients who cruise for extended periods in the Bahamas. The “smaller sister” to the E88, the Horizon E84 was extremely popular throughout the show; she’s flexible enough to be owner-operated by an experience yachting couple and or more formally with crew. With her hydraulic hard top, the Horizon E78 drew attention for those clients looking for a spacious mid-range motoryacht, especially one that has been designed to cruise under fixed bridges. The Horizon PC60 and PC52 were the most popular power catamarans at the show, known for their blue-water cruising capabilities and high quality fit and finish.
Horizon’s new model designs were also the talk of FLIBS, especially the new FD85 fast displacement motoryacht, RP120 superyacht, and E98 motoryacht on a 23’ beam. Both the FD85 and RP120 superyacht will debut at the 2016 Taiwan Int’l Boat Show in March 2016, and a new E98 is currently in build for a previous Horizon owner. Many Horizon owners and clients were excited to hear about the 2016 Horizon Yachts Open House, which will take place alongside the Taiwan Int’l Boat Show; the four day showcase has become a premier event for owners and guests to visit the Horizon shipyard, view new models, and celebrate our success as one of the largest luxury yacht builders in the world.
