2013-01-18

The new Horizon 81-foot E series yacht “Wild Duck,” which has been under construction since May 2012 for a U.S. owner, has successfully completed her initial sea trial at the Horizon shipyard.  Horizon Yacht USA Service Manager Jim Castengera was on board during the sea trial on January 15thand reported she performed extremely well, cruising at 20-21 knots and reaching a top speed of 24-25 knots with twin CAT C32 1600 HP engines.

Wild Duck features the sleek exterior styling that characterizes the E series but with the addition of a fishing cockpit, which brings the LOA to 81 feet. The open flybridge includes a full bar with a BBQ, refrigerator, ice maker and large settee; the area also provides a 1500lb davit and space for a 15-foot tender.

With a 19’ beam, Wild Duck offers immense interior volume throughout the yacht and features four staterooms plus crew quarters below deck.  The Main Salon offers plenty of space and seating for guests and transitions smoothly into the fully-equipped galley, which incorporates a dayhead, large dinette area and a “hidden” helm station.  Her interior décoris a beautiful combination of warm Walnut and Dark Camphor woods with neutral soft goods in a variety of textures and patterns.

Wild Duck will continue her final testing procedures before delivering in February to the U.S., where she is scheduled to showcase with Horizon Yacht USA at the 2013 Palm Beach Boat Show from March 21-24th.  For more information, please contact Horizon Yacht USA at 561-721-4850 or info@horizonyachtusa.com .
