2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

2024-01-04

An exquisite line-up of debuts, igniting enthusiasm with repeat clients and welcoming new customers to the Horizon Yachts Family.

Under breezy, mostly sunny skies, the Horizon Yachts blue banners waved proudly heralding in the 64th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), that took place Oct. 25-29, 2023. Horizon Yachts had quite the line-up, with a stunning display — welcoming current and new Horizon owners, as well of friends and of course, valued prospects. Each of the hulls making their debut at FLIBS featured unique aspects to showcase the options available for clients.

With four yachts on display, including the new FD110, FD100, FD90 and FD75, stern-to docking highlighted the huge swim platforms, and customization of aft beach clubs. Positioned along the main face dock and aside to the vendor tents gave the Horizon fleet great exposure to attendees. Nestled in the corner slip, The FD100 drew much attention showcasing its high-performance, wave-piercing bow structure, ample freeboard and impressive sheer size compared to competitors in its class. The FD100 debuted as the first of its series to feature a jacuzzi on the tri-deck.

It wouldn’t be a Fort Lauderdale boat show if Horizon Yachts didn’t recognize their newest builds and owners. The largest in the lineup, was the prominently displayed FD110 Tri-deck M/Y Crowned Eagle, fifth in the series of this model, and semi-custom build for a repeat owner (stepping up from an FD92). M/Y Crowned Eagle stands out from previous US-based FD110 models, with its five-stateroom layout, on-deck master, crew forward accommodations (for up to 6), custom projector screen in the skylounge, spacious beach club, and circular dining set up on the aft deck. “Crowned Eagle” showcased just some of the various options available and sparked interest in current and potential Horizon owners.

During the show, Roger Sowerbutts, Horizon Yacht USA, performed a delivery ceremony aboard the new FD100, M/Y Christine, for 4x Horizon Yachts owner, Mr. Jim Loomis. M/Y Christine debuted as the first of its series to feature a jacuzzi on the tri-deck.

Roger recognized Mr. Loomis and family with a poem and champagne toast. Showered with Horizon Yachts swag, the gift set included a photo book of the yacht’s build process and sea trials — a true memento! Several representatives from the Horizon shipyard in Taiwan were in attendance.

Horizon Yachts stands out from the rest, offering customers the opportunity to meet with renowned designers. Luxury yacht designer Cor D. Rover was in attendance, as the one behind Horizon's popular FD series. The FD series, which blends modern flair with functional living and entertaining spaces, has sold over 65 models to date. Cor D. Rover's expertise in luxury yacht design has made the FD series highly sought after among yacht owners yearning for the perfect combination of style and functionality.

Also in attendance was world-renowned designer J.C. Espinosa – who has been collaborating with Horizon Yachts for over 30 years. Espinosa has played an integral role in the design of Horizon's raised pilothouse models and other notable series’. With such a rich history in yacht design, J.C. Espinosa's name carries great recognition and prestige in the industry. Customers were undoubtedly thrilled for the opportunity to meet with these esteemed designers and collaborate with them on their customized yachts.

The fun continued at the Horizon Yachts’ display with evening happy hours and its annual FLIBS cocktail party on Friday evening, with live music by the Jutt Huffman band. Owners and guests partied and danced until after dark. Fun was had by all.

According to Informa Markets, this year’s FLIBS saw over 100,000 visitors to the five-day event. Local dignitaries all echoed how important FLIBS is to the local economy and that this year’s show did not disappoint.
