Horizon Yachts Launches Tri-Deck FD100

Built for a three-time Horizon yacht owner, the FD100 will showcase at FLIBS.

Horizon Yachts announces the launch of the ninth hull of the successful FD100 Tri-Deck model. This is the fourth Horizon for an experienced owner, who purchased the yacht during the build and recently took delivery. This latest tri-deck FD100 will be on display at the Horizon Yachts Showcase at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The new yacht features a traditional FD100 layout - with an on-deck master stateroom, four ensuite cabins on the lower deck, and private quarters for three crew members aft - as well as many notable amenities and upgrades. Having worked with Horizon on his last three yachts, the owner was comfortable with the design, layout and amenities aboard the FD100 and purchased this model as an inventory boat during the build process.
Flexible use is the theme throughout the new FD100, and this begins on the main deck aft, which features a large U-shaped seating area with a Hi/Lo adjustable table facing freestanding lounge chairs and ottomans. A full bar with refrigerator and ice maker is situated to starboard while a fold-down television and storage area to port round out the space.
Sliding doors provide a grand entrance to the main salon, which is outfitted in light European oak with stone facades highlighted by custom lighting features. Special attention was paid to the lighting design throughout and unique lighting elements - such as the concentric circle overhead fixture set in a polished gold overhead above the formal interior dining table for ten - were specified for the main areas.
Forward of the dining space, a spacious and well-equipped galley features a door and Hi/Lo textured glass partition for privacy as well as a modified chef’s nook forward to port with sofa seating. The master stateroom spans the yacht’s full beam and includes a large his-and-hers ensuite forward. Elegant wall sconces by Lumens on a leatherette headboard add to the overall ambiance of the space.
Rising from the lower deck to the bridge deck, the guest stairwell is highlighted by a hand-painted herringbone marble feature wall. Four ensuite staterooms are situated on the lower deck and comprise mirrored VIPs amidships, a convertible twin with a Pullman berth to port and a third VIP in the bow. Additional storage as well as a washer/dryer unit is incorporated in the large foyer. Throughout the staterooms, the ceiling treatment is uniformly designed with gradient and layered elements to enhance the sense of space. Private crew quarters for three are situated aft of the engine room housing the yacht’s twin 1,900hp CAT C32A engines. Furthest aft, the beach club features a bar space with a refrigerator/freezer opposite an L-shaped built-in settee.
On the bridge deck, an asymmetrical enclosed skylounge design increases the indoor space and doubles as a second salon area that is equipped with a wet bar, TV, refrigerator, and wet bar. The aft deck features a large U-shaped sofa as well as a large outdoor dining table for ten while side decks lead forward to the foredeck lounging area, fitted with U-shaped seating and sunpads.
Uniquely, this FD100 is the first of the FD Series to see a Jacuzzi tub installed on the uppermost tri-deck space. A truly convivial area perfect for entertainment housing a wet bar and plentiful sunpads, this space also houses a 55’ Hi/Lo LED television that rotates to suit viewers from multiple vantage points.
