HORIZON V68 HULL #7 IS DELIVERED

2023-10-03

HORIZON V68 HULL #7 IS DELIVERED Christened Mazel, this was the first semi-custom build for first-time Horizon owners.

A new V68 has been delivered. The seventh hull of the Jonathan Quinn Barnett-designed series was built for first-time Horizon owners, who selected this model for its high-volume design and options for customization.

The V68 design offers the option of an open bridge or enclosed skylounge configuration. Because the clients plan to use their boat mostly on the Great Lakes, they selected an enclosed skylounge configuration for maximum comfort. This area houses the helm station with twin Stidd helm chairs forward while the remainder of the space comprises a work desk, dayhead, and lounge area that converts to a bed if necessary. Entertainment was a priority, so the owners fitted a bar and grill on the boat deck. When the tender is deployed, this space opens further for additional lounging and socializing under custom sunshades.

“On the main deck, the owners incorporated several special features, such as a dining table with a folding leaf on the aft deck and a bar with a window that opens into the salon. In the galley, they designed a large center island with three counter stools and a custom fold-up piece for extra counter space when needed. Nestled under the forward windows, a U-shaped settee wraps around the dining table with a folding leaf for additional flexibility.”

On the lower deck, the owners specified a full-beam master ensuite with a grand double-door entrance, a convertible twin ensuite cabin to starboard, and a VIP ensuite in the bow. Quarters for two crew are situated aft of the engine room, housing the yacht’s CAT C18 engines of 1,150hp each.

Christened Mazel, which means “luck” in Hebrew, this V68 is the lucky seventh hull of the series, and the second V68 to reside in the Great Lakes.
