Horizon Yacht Australia signs contract for FD90 at the 2023 Sydney International Boat Show.

The sun shone bright each day of the Sydney International Boat Show, demonstrating the beauty of Australia’s mild winter weather. Situated at the Cockle Bay Marina entrance of Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Horizon Yacht Australia (HYA) showcased the new flagship V74 yacht and an FD80 Skyline yacht during the show, which ran August 3rd through August 6th.

Nearly 50,000 visitors attended the four-day show, where a total of 646 boats and yachts were on display. Potential clients showed tremendous interest in the new Horizon V74 as well as the FD80 Skyline, with a contract for a new build FD90 being signed during the show.

Commissioned for a repeat owner, the new FD90 will feature a five-stateroom layout with an aft-galley configuration and numerous customizations. This is the second Horizon yacht for the experienced boater, who specified several customizations including a helipad to accommodate a Robinson R44. This FD90 will feature an owner-specified infrared sauna in the master suite and a heated Jacuzzi on the boat deck, just aft of the split-use skylounge with a fully equipped, u-shaped bar. This FD90 offers crew quarters for four and will be powered by twin CAT C32B ACERT engines of 2,000hp each.

The Horizon V74 stands as a true testament to luxury and performance, expertly tailored to complement the Australian boating lifestyle. With its sleek and appealing design, coupled with exceptional craftsmanship, this vessel harmoniously blends elegance with ruggedness and is perfectly suited for tackling the diverse Australian coastal waters. Boasting an enclosed skylounge and a generously spacious four-stateroom layout, the Horizon V74 prioritizes comfort and functionality, catering to both relaxation and adventure-seeking. Whether navigating the iconic Great Barrier Reef or cruising along Sydney's tranquil bays, the yacht's state-of-the-art navigation systems and sturdy engineering guarantee a secure and seamless voyage. Undeniably reflecting the essence of Australian boating, the Horizon V74 epitomizes a harmonious fusion of refinement, adaptability, and dependability for those who yearn for the ultimate maritime experience.

Also on display, the FD80 Skyline features four staterooms including a master suite forward on the main deck and three staterooms on the lower deck, with crew quarters for four aft and a spacious beach club with a Hi/Lo swim platform. Designed in a contemporary yet comfortable interior aesthetic described as “Charcoal in Snow,” the interior is highlighted by water-bleached walnut with brushed metallic highlights and dyed koto accents. The yacht is configured with a split-use skylounge, which sees an enclosed wheelhouse area forward and a protected al fresco area for entertainment extending aft on the boat deck.

“We saw a lot of interest in the FD Series as well as our yachts built to AMSA 2C Survey,” says HYA Director Mark Western. “We have a new FD80 on schedule to arrive later this year that is built to survey and is currently available. We’ve had a lot of enquiries on this vessel and look forward to showcasing her upon arrival.”

The 2024 Sydney International Boat Show is planned for August 1st through 4th, 2024.
